March 17, 2020. As of 6:30 p.m. on March 16, entry to the Juan Santamaría International Airport international departures lobby is permitted solely for departing passengers. This measure is being applied in observance of Costa Rican Health Ministry guidelines to prevent concentrations of people, given the COVID-19 health emergency.
Entry to the lobby is restricted for visitors or family members, while the following actions will be taken by security officers located at the entry bridges:
- 1. Passengers will be asked to show their passports upon entering.
- 2. Couriers needing to enter the lobby must show their company IDs and proof of their need to enter the terminal.
- 3. Passengers needing to consult with their airline will be permitted to enter the lobby.
- 4. All airport employees must show their badge.
As a responsible airport manager committed to containment of the virus, AERIS invites passengers and the public to follow all recommendations, maintain direct contact with their airlines and get their information solely through official channels.
